Sustainable Development goals

In 2015, the United Nations General Assembly drew up a roadmap, stitching together 17 global goals aimed at shaping a better world by 2030. These aren't just goals; they're a shared vision for a planet where everyone thrives.

Our commitment to these goals isn't just about ticking boxes; it's about creating a meaningful impact. Each goal has specific targets and indicators, turning big ideas into practical steps. It's a guide for us, a roadmap to craft not just exceptional chefs wear but a narrative of responsibility and care.

Why does this matter for Le Nouveau Chef? Because we understand that the best recipes come from collaboration. We value the input of our stakeholders– whether you're a customer, partner, or part of our talented team. Your insights shape our journey, externally by meeting your expectations and addressing your concerns, and internally by fostering a culture where everyone's voice matters.

Le Nouveau Chef isn't just a brand; it's a holistic framework. From the threads we choose to the practices we adopt, every decision is part of a bigger picture. It's about mindful sourcing, reducing our footprint, and setting new standards in hospitality. This is not just about looking good in the kitchen; it's about our impact on the planet and every individual involved.

As you explore Le Nouveau Chef, you're not just choosing exceptional chefs wear; you're joining a community of hospitality experts where excellence isn't just in the taste, but in the steps we take together. Rooted in our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we proudly present our approach to three essential pillars: Planet, People, Product.

Planet: waste, co2 & plastics

At Le Nouveau Chef, we take steps to reduce our negative impact on the environment. We manufacture locally, within the EU, and more than 50% of our materials come from sources we can monitor. We're actively tackling CO2 reduction, waste reduction through recycling and upcycling, and using responsible packaging. It's our way of contributing to SDGs 13, 14, and 15.

In the short term, we're researching ways to reduce textile waste, minimising plastics in our packaging, and figuring out our CO2 footprint. For the long term, our goal is to produce only what's needed, measure our products' environmental impact, use renewable energy, and make sure our transportation practices align with environmental goals.

  • SDG 14 life below water
  • SDG 15 life on land

People: traceability, safety & health

Our focus on people means we care about the well-being of everyone involved in our supply chain. We adhere to international guidelines, consistently advancing fair labour practices, diversity, inclusion, and prioritising safety and health. Supporting SDG 8, we're working on responsible purchasing practices and a traceable supply chain.

In the short term, we're making sure our purchasing practices align with international guidelines and conducting social audits. In the coming years, we will continue and improve our educational opportunities for our workers, fair compensation, and we continue to develop comprehensive policies on various aspects of our business.

  • SDG 8 decent work and economic growth

Product: materials & circularity

When it comes to our products, we're keeping it local and durable. Our goal is to ensure that all items remain 100% EU-produced, and we are constantly seeking less harmful solutions. We're focusing on certified materials and packaging, circular initiatives, and ways to reuse, repair, and resell. This aligns with SDG 12.

In the short term, we are sharing information about our product's durability, progressing towards circular design, collaborating with repair centres, and exploring personalization. In the long term, we are exploring circular design as a business model, implementing training, adopting on-demand production, and even considering garment deposits.
